So here we are, 2012! I'm really looking forward to what the new year can bring, knowing we can all start afresh with new resolutions, goals and journeys - no looking back on what could have been, to just enjoy the present and look forward to the future.

Though, as I looked back on all my pictures in Facebook (simply because everything is up there and my pictures folder on my lappie is messy with a capital M), I realised that I did have a pretty good year! Sure there are some down moments, but without 'em, all the up and happy moments won't seem so significant!

I really do thank God for all the wonderful people in my life - ever helpful, ever caring, ever generous.

This year:
1) Live harder
2) Laugh louder
3) Love deeper
4) Avoid drama (made this particular resolution on NYE!)

As general as these resolutions are, each one of them do mean a whole lot to me and I do hope I stick to them! Hahaha.

Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEARS! Hope you all have the best year ever filled with all the love and happiness you possibly need! :) xxx

Early December, I had my final finals of ACCA. Screwed up time management for one of the papers but I really that I'll pass it! *FINGERS AS CROSSED AS THEY CAN BE!*

Mid December, some friendships were strained. I regret the way I handled things but it's all probably for the best. I know that in time we'd get things fixed and up and running again!

Helped out at my church's Vacation Bible School for kids and had the most amazing time! Loved all of the 9 kids assigned to me. They definitely took my mind off all the drama that was happening at the time. Missing my kids already!

Went to Tony and Guy with Sandra and Soyan to get our hair cut and dyed and we all came outta the salon with really pretty hair! I just got some layering done and it's now it's deep maroon with red highlights! I orginally wanted a really deep maroon or purple, sorta like a fall colour but he gave me so many strips of highlights that it's basically more red than maroon. BOO. Oh well, at least it's right for Christmas and CNY. =.="

Moved outta the Sunway hostel. As I was packing up, thinking that I'd miss this place so much after spending 3 years there, a mosquito flew past me. RAWRRR I MISS THIS PLACE NO MORE!

Christmas was good too! Having no money, I took my broke ass home (ala Fergie's Glamorous lyrics! hehe) and made some of the people I love at church Christmas cards with a kinky Santa Clause in leopard clothes and hat at the front. :D Too bad I didn't take pictures of 'em! Was writing them letters up till Christmas morning!!!

Finally got my iPhone4s (IN WHITE!!!) and I've been obsessively documenting my life on Instagram ever since.

December is truly the most wonderful time of the year! (def my fav!)

I'd say 2011 ended pretty well. :)

Friends used to give me wake up calls but they sometimes didn't work 'cos I'd go back to sleep right after they hang up.

So one guy attempted to step it up a notch and make me do math so that my brains gotta wake up and start working! It did work...

BUT!

I can now do math in my dreams! HAHAHAHAHA. I actually calculated something in my dream (without the calculator okay!!!!) and remembered it when I woke up. Super massive smile that morning! :D Can't remember what it is now but anyway... I think we need a new solution to my little problem.

Rain Down

Amongst all the RPGT, interest restrictions and Labuan Offshore Company tax stuff that was going through my head, the thought of the words I read a couple of days back just kept going back and forth in my mind. I couldn't focus on the paper I was doing, I was just.. so upset.

Finished up the paper and left early. Drove home. It was drizzling and Planet Shaker's song Rain Down (IRONYYY) was playing. Acoustic version of course.

Reached home and I just sat in the car for a little while having a drizzle of my own haha.

Well, I was going to say heaps of mean things on Twitter before this but during that car ride I realised that the only way that I can go back to God is if I let go of all these petty little things and not let them get the best of me.

Yes, you said something about me behind my back.

Yes, it hurt.
They say that the best friends you make are the ones you meet in these couple of years.

I thought you were one of the better girls, one of the more real ones.
I was really shocked that it came from you.

Obviously I'm not such a good judge of character.

I'm no saint, but I wouldn't have said something like that behind anyone's back.
I wouldn't have compared like that.
That's just plain.. mean.

So yeah. This is the first and last time I'm going to talk about this, never again.

Grow some Balls la.

p/s: Before reading, please know that it is not my intention to upset or condemn anyone. It's all just for laughs! Thought it was funny so I'm sharing it with all of you! :)

You know how people always say "Omg man, grow some balls la" when a dude is being chicken or whiny etc? Well at least I say it la. Hahaha. I know it's a wee bit vulgar, but there's no other substitute for that phrase in those kinda situations!

But recently, my friend and I came to a conclusion that instead of saying "grow some balls", we should ask men or boys haha to grow pussies!!!

The following are reasons to support our statement. *awkward cough*

1. The balls are the weakest part of a man. Kick it and he'd be crouching in pain on the floor. So that contradicts the whole point of asking someone to grow some balls/be brave or stronger since balls only make a man weaker.

Kick a girl's middle! Will it hurt? OF COURSE! Though only as much as it would hurt if you kick any other part of a woman! (Y)

2. When a woman controls a man's balls (ie. gives him satisfaction blabla la okay so inapt to talk about this but yea), he gains control of HIM.

When a man controls a woman's vagina, okay la that's not even possible FULLSTOP.

So see, in conclusion, guys, grow some va-jay-jays!

Today is so special and so awesome that I just HAVE to tell all of you about it!

So I slept at 5am because I took an uber long nap the evening before, and spent the whole night watching YouTube videos, doing my OBU presentation slides, reading blogs, and lusting over pretty clothes online.

Was supposed to get some shut-eye and wake up at 6am to: pack my bags for the hostel, keep my laundry that's presumably dry, get ready and leave home to drive to uni by 7.15am. BUT NOOOOO, I decide to snooze my alarm thinking that I'd wake up in 5minutes. (FAT HOPES! LOL)

Ended up jumping outta bed at 7.30am. QUICKLY GOT DRESSED, BRUSHED TEETH, WASHED FACE, *coughdidn'tshowercough*, GRABBED MY BANANAS (the actual fruit! duh), AND SPED TO UNI.. only to find myself being stuck in the morning traffic. Occupied myself with eating my bananas and putting on my moisturizer. HAHAHA.

Arrived at Sunway around 8.30am, parked at Elephant Walk (which is pretty far away) 'cos I know there won't be any parking near uni by then and hurried to

class.

Got to class at 8.45am (45mins late!) and the lecturer was doing tutorial questions. OKAY! GOOD! So I didn't miss anything much..

9.30am break. I realised I've already attended the second half of the lecture the week before in another class. OHMAIKAWT. Came to uni just for one tutorial question. Kill me now.

Headed to Sunway Pyramid to study at (BLEEP). Sorry, it's a secret, I don't want all of you flooding my new study area nyehehehe. God made me Chinese for a reason :D

Had a good brunch, read the newspapers, caught up on some revision (MOCK EXAMS NEXT WEEK RAWR), and attempted the Sudoku puzzle in the newspapers for 45minutes..and FAILED. Lol.

Went to the gym (don't ask me why I'm still fat la okay, FML hahaha) and realised I didn't have my lock with me. So I HAD TO go buy one. Decided to get it at Daiso 'cos it's only rm5. (How much do locks cost anyway!) and ended up with those plastic bag sealers and a nail polish diluter thingamajig as well.

GYM GYM GYM. Went back at 4.30pm to beat the after work rush hour. Had to speed walk to my car again 'cos it was drizzling and I had no umbrella wit

h me! Drove home super quick because, if you noticed from the first paragraph, I HAVEN'T KEPT MY LAUNDRY!

Parked, ran up the stairs.. no la went up the lift hahaha, RAN to my unit, unlocked the door and RAN TOWARDS THE BALCONY and swiftly opened the sliding door *SPLATTT* rain water on my face.

The wind was so strong all the clothes and hangers were threatening to fall off! :(

Rushed to keep all of them. I grabbed handfuls of the clothes and chucked them onto the sofa whilst standing on a chair because the clothes rail was pretty high up.

IMAGINE: Strong wind and rain, flimsy plastic chair, slippery balcony tiles.

Finally got all my laundry safely into the house, stuck my head out the balcony to check if anything fell down... Don't see any clothes. *fingers crossed nothing fell out*

OHMG STRESS.

Made my self a good plate of Bolognese pasta, snuggled up on the couch and watched Australia's next top model. WHY ARE THEY SO SKINNY! (maybe 'cos they don't take comfort in carbs *coughlikeyoucough*)

Love house parties! They're always the warmest! Food, friends, family, fun, fellowship. Nothing gets better than that.

The barbecue was good! Lamb, beef, chicken, sausages nuggets and all that awesome kiddy finger food hehe, the satays, noodles, etc etc. BAKED POTATOESSSSS. ;O Ate so much it's not even funny........

AND THERE WERE MARSHMALLOWS! Richard surely didn't disappoint! He bought 3 big packs of marshmallows! LOVE! No one wanted to play chubby bunny with me except him.. and he admitted defeat even before it got funny. No fun. CHUBBY BUNNEHHH!!!

THIS REMINDS ME. I still have a couple of cards I have to write for him! =x

Sucasa Retreat!

Couple of months back, the girls and I took a mini retreat to Sucasa Suites, Ampang! A place close by to accommodate everyone's busy schedules! It was so close to home but it just felt like all the hustle and bustle of our daily lives were so far away. ;)

Did all our usual slumber party shizz la hehe. Facial masks, talks, laughs, drinks, games, eating loads ALL DAY LONG..

We actually brought all our dresses+heels to go out that night but we decided to stay in and have a cozy romantic home-cooked dinner at the hotel instead aww. We've def matured muchos since highschool (aged/became boring).

But really, it's times like when you're preparing dinner together with Gareth Gates music playing in the background (MASSIVE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE! ALL OF US USED TO LOVE HIM!) that you really bond!

Anyway, we had a really late night and I think everyone knows this, but every time I drink, I'll end up sleeping super late and waking up super early! Then kong at the end of the next day. SO ANWYAY, back to waking up early, I made breakfast for everyone TA-DAAAA. Hehe. *bangga*

Oh what I'd give to have another dose of this right now...

YAAAAAAA I KNOW. February..

We had dinner at Bubba Gump, Sunway Pyramid. GOOD FOOD! GOOD DESSERTS! GOOD SERVICE! The price is a little steep though. AND I can't eat shrimp FML. Hahaha.

The concept came from the movie Forrest Gump. LOVED IT! If you haven't already, you should really watch it :)

So back to the dinner. There were fireworks that night! No idea why.. but we said that we were the ones behind it. Hehe. What to do.. ALL FOR JUN HOONG! *taking credit*

Birthday girl/boy also gets a free meal. Jia wen chose this honey mustard pork ribs.. FOOD ORGASM RIGHT THERE! Hehehe. It was so good.. Don't order their pastas though. Stick to the meat dishes!

They also have this green beer and some of their own special brews.. Gotta try it. Tastes really yummy too.

We got her two cakes! Only managed to finish one.. Def not a good idea to get too much cake! Ends up wasted..

This time everyone dressed up! Specific instructions were given. Haha. The girls were all in dresses and the boys in shirts.

Hope you had a birthday to remember Jia Wen! ;))) If you forget, can always look back at the pretty pictures! Hehehe.

The problem with planning and expecting is that when things don't turn out how you want them to, you'd get super upset and disappointed.

The problem with not planning or expecting, is that you'd be so unmotivated and just going through the motions without a direction.

Well, Delicious ain't what it used to be anymore... Even at the other branches. *teary eyed*
I used to love their salad! Now it's just blah. Their other dishes aren't that good either. Sunway's branch has pretty decent service though! Maybe 'cos they're still new.. The Midvalley branch is HORRIBLEEEEEEEE. Never going back there again!

Anyway, on to more happier thoughts! It was my p6 partner's birthday! Hehe. Only 4 of us are taking Taxation as our major wuwuwu. Christine, Szeming, Jun Hoong and I. A smaller group is good though. That means less distraction! Hahaha.

The group picture is one of our best so far!

It was Alveena's 20th birthday on the 11th of September 2011.
(not-so-Fun fact: It was also the 10 year mark since the 911 incident in the US. Can you believe its been 10 years? How time flies..)

We had dinner at Nero Fico - one of the restaurants under the Nero group of companies! Is that what it's called? I just assumed 'cos the other two I know of are Nero Vivo and Nero Teca hahaha. Food at either Vivo or Teca are heaps better and more value-for-money.. but Fico has jazz music performances! LOVELOVE.

HAHAHAHA Damn hilarious can. 'Cos the whole restaurant was pretty quiet but we just went ahead and made noise anyway. Hehe!

Afters, we headed back to Veena's place.
Supper (cos the portions were so small, it clearly wasn't enough for the boys.. or the girls for that matter!), charades, cake, talks, laughs...

It's really painful to hear someone I know lose a loved one.
I can't imagine how he/she must feel. To suddenly not be able to talk or see that person anymore.

I think it was in "Letters to Juliet", where the lady said that it shouldn't hurt as much because your parents (who passed away) didn't CHOOSE to leave you. They just had to. For now.

The greatest comfort is that you will see them again in Heaven, and there you'll (HAVE TO) spend ETEEEEEERNITY with them. So long that you'll get sick of them.

So, till we have tea again in the clouds... ;)

The gang celebrated Christine's 20th birthday over dinner at Skewers, Subang Avenue (me thinks). Pretty decent food! BUT! DAMN ALOT OF MOSSYS CAN DIE RAWR. :( Well, they only bit me. I had like at least 10 mossybites from that night! NO KIDDING.

Everyone (by everyone I meant the girls. The boys NEVER bother dressing up. *smackyourface*) looked so nice and pretty especially the birthday girl!

p/s: Bought my dress for like rm14! Hahaha. Bangga sial! :p

You get daily necessities with money, you go places with money, look better with money, and it really does make the world go round.. but money is also the root of all evil.

We see what we want and we take the shortest possible route to get it. We cut corners, back stab, manipulate facts, create gossip, everything just so we can get ahead.

The worst thing is, we boast about our wealth after. *smacks forehead*

There is a difference between success and good success. Good success being one where you work hard to earn your keep. It may or may not take longer, but it its the right thing to do and at the end of the day, you have all the people you love and who love you around you sharing in your success!

This has been bothering me for such a long time now. I mean, who doesn't want to have all the luxuries that the world can offer right? Myself included. But we got to remember that we can't buy our way to Heaven and Heaven is the ULTIMATE LUXURY! The only way to Heaven is through Christ and to be of Christ, we have to strive to be Christ-like as well.

I want to be someone who is rich. Not just someone with money. What about you?

I find myself being disappointed when things don't go the way they were supposed to. Like to the point where I become a mean bitch rawr. It really is important to lower your expectations, so anything extra is bonus, and you'll get lesser chances of being disappointed. It's even more important to be grateful and content with what you have.

I guess I just thought that for onceeeeeeee, there would be "something more".

BUT! your best days are always ahead of you isn't it. That day will come. Just gotta be.. patient.

Sent Kai Yun off two weeks ago with the high school bunch. It's always bittersweet when someone you love leaves to further their studies overseas.

The selfish side of you wants them to stay right here where they can be here for you 24/7, whenever you need them but the other more (selfless is not the word ermmm) proud part of you are excited for your friend/family who has the chance to go overseas!

OKAY, I'M GONNA SAY IT NOW. (before Kai Yun becomes some major superstar pianist or something and pretends she doesn't know me huhuhu :p) I KNOW WONG KAI YUN! HAVE KNOWN HER FOR YEAAAAAAAARS! Lol.

On that day, I also learnt that:

I had the privilege of spending the Mooncake Festival with the kids from Trinity Home again this year! Tagged along with the awesome people from SAC last Friday and had an awesome time running around, getting tickled by the kids, them pretending that they're "burning" my hair, forcing me to eat their snacks and drink their own mix of soft drinks..

Raya holidays this year : A couple of days before our hike on the 31st of August, MANU scored 8-2 against Liverpool.

Hence the MANU jersey/tshirt worn for both hikes! MANU FTWWWW! :DD

Tabur: Quite scenic, lesser people, more challenging & interesting but it's still relatively easy. I managed to complete the hike even though I was having my period so go figure lol!

Broga: More scenic (compared to Tabur), easier hike, but WAYYY TOO MANY PEOPLE ESP ON WEEKENDS!

NEXT HOLIDAY: GUNUNG NUANG!

Pros: They have a pretty view and a waterfall!!!!!! *gasp* the whole gang loves waterfalls!
Cons: It's def tougher, but we can train for that.. Something we can't train for is that it's jungly.. so there'll be leeches nooooooh :(

At the Hong Kong pier a couple of years back. It was day 5 of our holiday and we pretty much visited all the places we had on our itinerary so mom and I just sat there for hours! From daylight till it got dark - sipping on coffee, enjoying the weather and the sights, people watching, having heart-to-hearts. How can you not fall in love with Hong Kong?

Someone please offer me a job in HK! I'd defo love to work there for a year or two! :)

As I write, I think about the day's to-do list. A long list. There are lines and lines of things to do that aren't checked off yet, calling for my attention and time. They're all important, but how do I process my list through today's key verse? How do I become more like Jesus, numbering my days aright so that I might gain a heart of wisdom?

I think I'll start a fresh to-do list and take a lesson from Melanie. I'll leave room at the top of my list—room for names instead of tasks.

MAJOR LOVEEEEEE! The seniors who got me through high school!

I had pet siblings when I was younger. These two pretty people were my khai jie-s and I had two khai kor-s! Tang Yang and Daniel (he's MIA now lol). I used to call them that too. I don't anymore though. Stopped when I was in form 3!

After that I just called Yon Peng - ahbeng or ahpeng or pengpoh, and Lai Yew - Layu.

I met Lai Yew through Daniel 'cos he was both Lai Yew and I's pet brother! One day she just came up to me and went like "Heyy, you're Sydney right?"

Yon Peng was through Tang Yang! So I was close to Tang Yang back then and I BET THEY ALL STALKED ME HAHAHA then somehow Yon Peng added me on Friendster and went like "Hey, we have the same birthday!" which was/is actually pretty cool 'cos so far she's the only person I know with the same birthday as me!

Ranting about petty high school dramas, going for tuition together after school, talking about boys, hiding my hand phone in the prefects room :p, having recess together when we were in upper sec!

THEN THEY GRADUATED AND LEFT ME BEHIND FML. Lol.

Things turned out really good though & I'm taller than both of them now hehe. Nehnehnibubu. :p

Smokin' Hot!

Just got back from dinner with the bunch at Sunway Pyramid. Weather has been so smokin' hot lately! To make things worse.. I'm at the hostel on weekdays which also means NO AIR CONDITIONING KILL ME NOW.

Pictures are from when the brother was back in KL. Was so semangat over the F&N contest where the theme of the week was "chillaxing at the beach". We don't have any beaches nearby so the pool would do. I won an Adidas bag. HAHAHA

Rule #3 Actually, just try not to drink at all. Bad for your liver! In 20 years you're going to regret it! I try not to unless it's on like special occasions. If you need to drink a can of beer every night, you know you need to stop. YOU KNOW THAT RIGHTTT

There was a guest pastor from Japan who came to preach at church today.

He said something that was really an eye-opener. He said, the truth and facts are different.

Truths don't change. What God said and promised in the Bible are truths which we should hold on to. Facts change. Facts are the conditions that we're facing at the moment.

For example, fact is that you have 4th stage cancer and the doctors say that there is no possible cure left. The truth is that God is able to cure you. No cancer, no mountain, nothing is too big for Him to handle. Nothing is impossible for God!

When you come to God for help, you SEEK Him.

When you seek Him, BELIEVE that He can do wonders in your life.

Many a time people do both, but they give up halfway because the FACTS of their situations change for the worse.. But thing is, the TRUTH doesn't change - the truth that God can heal you, even though the facts of your situation may not look like He is.

You just have to hold on to it! You hold on to the promises that God gave you in the Bible and keep your attitude up, and the facts will eventually change to align itself with the truth.

Makeup really does wonders for girls! So many girls I know from highschool (and other places) look so pretty with makeup on! Like they were pretty, but with makeup on, they're prettier! :)

WHO NEEDS PLASTIC SURGERY YO. God made you beautiful the way you are and there's nothing wrong with ENHANCING what He gave to you isn't it!

But makeup's not for me la cos:

1. I'm hopeless at it. Can't even put on eyeliner properly to save my life.

2. Too lazy to bother learning how to do it properly heehee.

3. NO MONEY TO BUY MAKEUP FML HAHAHA.

All I had on for PROM this year (which was really pretty btw) (just realised how it sounded like I was saying I'm pretty, which is quite true also but I was talking about the prom hehe :p) was BB cream, lipgloss and a wee lil bit of eyeliner. Had 30 mins to get ready and I gave up on the eyeliner halfway hahaha.

So yeah! They named the spaceships that they sent up to the moon "Apollo" followed by whatever number (in sequence).

In this movie, Apollo 18 (doesn't exist, cos it's fiction!) is a U.S spaceship that sent two American astronauts on a secret expedition and the movie is sorta a "NASA footage" that explains why the U.S. has never returned to the moon.

SO ANYWAY!!!! LOOK WHAT I'VE GOT! HEEHEE.

So the skin I got fits up to a 15 inch laptop, but mine is a smaller 13 inch laptop so I've cut it to fit the size of my laptop. See those pieces of scrap paper on the top? That's the back of the decal - with lines and boxes on it so its easier for you to measure the desired size for your lappie!

Stuck on already!

Opened up my laptop and OHCRAPPP. Stuck it upside down. Hahaha fail max. But fret not!!!

Simply peeled it off and stuck it back on the right side up. :)

When you remove it from your lappie, it doesnt go all sticky with bits of it still stuck onto your laptop like how sometimes bits of the price tag still sticks on your pen when you've removed it and everytime you use your pen, it sticks to your hand fyl lol.

Scratch free! I was really scratching it like an angry cat okay. You just can't see it in the picture!

Water resistant. It doesn't seep throughhhh...

Actually... you get a manual when you buy the skin! Though you really don't need a manual 'cos its so easy!

But they'll show you the more proper, less lazy way of doing it where you need to for example, as step 6 says, start rubbing from left to right in a zigzag motion. (ermm, sounds quite kinky hahaha)

F&N CHILLAX roadshow

First time working for a roadshow. It was the F&N Chillax roadshow where we went all over KL promoting Seasons' new drink packaging.

Pretty fun! I got to see all the different types of people including some who didn't want free drinks. ARE YOU REALLY MALAYSIAN! FREE THINGS ALSO DOWAN! Though, people were generally really friendly and sporting and so willing to take pictures with us! Lots of flirty people of all ages from young primary school boys to uni dudes to old men...

Most traumatising experience was when this old malay uncle said to me, "Boleh peluk?" (for the picture) to which I said, "mana boleh.. haram dowh. hahaha" ROFL!

Great team of people (TEAM A FTW!) = easiest money earned. :) xxx

Had carrot cake day/pigging out day/sleepover at Kaiyun's place before she and Cass left for US. I'm really going to miss all the crazy fun times we've had. Though we've been out of highschool for what, close to 3 years now?, we can still talk all night about all our diff lives!

I'm so excited to see how we turn out in 5, 10, 15, 30 years time! Old women sipping tea and having carrot cake with our grandchildren all around! Hehe. I LOVE YOU GIRLS! xx

This song came to me as I was thinking about how my marks weren't high enough, how I got the lowest marks (out of the three papers I took) for the paper that I thought I was good at.. when really, I am blessed beyond measure. Langkawi with the gang during the semester break.Got a tan, made friends with the locals, hung out with each other, had good food, enjoyed the duty free-ness of the island hehe, didn't see any fishes or corals kena conned FOL. Overall, it was pretty kick ass though!

I'm in the final semester of ACCA and we've all picked different majors so I hardly see some of 'em wonderful people anymore.. I even have some classes alone! Missing them heaps! Def need to hangout as a gang again ASAP! Till then, STUDY HARD PEOPLE! We can do this shit. :)

I have.. an issue.

Haven't been talking to God as much as I used to, and I just feel so distant from Him.

I know that I haven't, and I know I have to do something about it, but I'm just always so caught up with doing everything else - studies, hanging out, trying to make things happen - even for church and charity work and stuff - that I neglect my personal relationship with my Father.

When I do actually make time, I just feel like I haven't been talking to Him for so long that I can't remember how to anymore. I feel like I'm telling Him things He already knows and I have needs that I ask for, but I feel so shallow asking for them. There are so many people around me who have greater needs and who need God. I see them everyday, around me, but I'm just too selfish and caught up in my own world to get out and do something to help them.

I pray for others, but sometimes I feel so.. fake. I mean, there I am, praying, knowing that these people have needs that are so great and that I am blessed beyond measure - but yet I still complain. I complain about so many things - little unimportant things that I can actually live with.

Whatdoido. :(

I want Him to be the center of my focus. I want God to be the first person I go to when I have a problem, to be the first person I call in excitement to break any good news. I want to know that He is there watching over me so I have nothing or no one to fear.

I didn't know who to call, specifically... Didn't know who'd judge and who'd really help me without making me feel horrible and pitiful. SO YES. Here's it. Do whatever you want with this information and erm, well, if you can help me in the process, that would be awesome.

Capricciosa, Sunway Pyramid.

So after we got our results for last semester (I may have blogged about this?), we went over to Pyramid for a little celebration thingamajig. Decided to try the new Italian place, Capricciosa.

Wrong move.

Food was horrible. Besides the two pasta dishes above (first one too salty, second too much squid ink wtf, you're supposed to colour the pasta, not the whole darn dish! You should still be able to see the other ingredients), we also ordered a salad, which was horrible. WHO MAKES HORRIBLE SALAD!

All you gotta do is just throw in some fresh veg (which they didn't! Some of them were all yellow and stuff, and they blamed it on the orange dressing for making the veg yellow. HELLO, orange and yellow are two different colours!), get some proper dressing and put it on the sides, don't pour it over your veg unless you're 100% sure its yummy and you got the right balance and it's not too overpowering.. and ta-da! GOOD SALAD!

Oh wait, I do know another place with horrid salad - Sakae Sushi. Another first and last time place.

Rawr, angry just talking about it. I do give them credit for preparing a new plate of salad for us, though it wasn't any much better the 2nd time either.

Wasn't that much of a celebration....

Oh btw, I passed all my three papers and results were pretty good too. So.. can't say it was a bad day. :)

Fun in the Son!

Got up bright and early and headed to some park in Putrajaya with the churchies for FUN IN THE SON! It's a one day event for the kids at church and their friends where they just have fun! Followed Jm's car and while waiting for the bus load of kids to reach the toll at Putrajaya ('cos we didn't know how to get to the exact location), we got out and... took some pictures beside the highway! Timer shots funn! ;)

Didn't get to take many pictures, because I was running around with my team the entire day.. Was helping out with the middle aged kids (primary school). They had this amazing race thingy where they had to run all around the park completing tasks and boy those kids can run!!!!

There was this one boy in my team, such a rascal! At first he pretended not to know English so he made me explain the rules of the game in my super broken mandarin! Then he laughed and told me he knew English. RAWR! Hahahaha. He was kinda cute though, like old man kinda cute - complaining at every single thing! Lol. The three girls were really good though. Sooooo shy and sweet and obedient! :)

It was a fun day out with the church kiddies! The weather was good. Then the Sun came up lol!

Came home and crashed right away. No actually, I fell asleep on the car ride back. Hahahahaha.

p/s : Was supposed to wear orange and the only orange tshirt I had was my Karate club tshirt. Mod it a little so I didn't look intimidating to the kids. LOLOLOL HAIYAKK! :P

Wars are just.. unimaginable. I mean, why do you need to die for your country? To show your loyalty to your country? To give back to your country? Or just so someone higher up the hierarchy can satisfy their greed?

How do you get trained for a war? How do you get trained to turn off whatever emotion you have and just take another life without feeling any sense of remorse or compassion? To turn off that one thing that makes you human - your conscience.

Somehow I feel more comforted now that I'm dealing with numbers instead of guns @_@

I had to recheck the year as I wrote it down above. 2010 or 2011? Lol. Whoopsies. Anyway, it's been 2 weeks since I turned 19!

Everything still feels the same though. I don't feel any older, nor any wiser. Which is good! (referring to the former. Haha)

I woke up this morning feeling grateful for everything that's happened in my life. I may not have the best handbag collection *weeps softly* but I do have all of these wonderful people which beats any Hermes' Birkins or Chanel's Mesdemoiselles anytime. I hope. Hehe.

All of this, all of you, are part of God's perfect plan for me and I'm pretty sure the Big Boss a.k.a Heavenly Daddy has my best interest in mind during his planning stage and even now! He won't give me anything I can't handle.

Theme of my 19th year : Give and love until I run out of love to give! But I'll never run out.. You know why? You love because Jesus first loved you, and to say that you're all out of love is also saying His love isn't enough. YOU DARE SAY GOD'S LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH OR NOT! Hahahaha.

Sem Break Dec '10

So the uni gang and I went to PD/Malacca for our sem break last December, much thanks to the organizer @aaron1kee!

We checked into Thistle, Avillion Admiral Cove at PD. BEST HOTEL EVER! :) Pool, private beach and everything! It was all so pretty and scenic and we just wanted to take pictures everywhere!

I was so happy I even let them bury me! Ended up having sand in my pants. When I took my shorts off to shower, a whole lotta sand came off with it. Hahahaha! RAWR.

Our hotel at Malacca. Mimosa. What a difference! Rawr. Hahaha. Pretty bummed, but travellers on a budget, what to do! We didn't spend much time in the hotel itself though, was busy doing touristy stuff like visit all the historical sites, taking pictures and eating non-stop!

We do the same things, visit the same places, and eat the same food every time we go to Malacca!

When there's a line.. the food is probably good.

OR, it's just that the coffee shop that sells the really good chicken rice balls ran outta rice balls or chicken and everyone goes to any other shop that sells 'em. It was the latter for us. Everyone was so hungry that it didn't really matter though. Hahahaha.

Had cendol too.. at that Jonker 88 place I think? That what it's called?

They (Veena and I decided to skip it and walk around instead) went for chicken rice balls, the real authentic one, round2 the next day and they spotted a Sydney lookalike! I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE ME TOO!!! RAWR!! Hahahaha.

At one of the forts. I've never been there before this time with the uni gang! Ruins of St. Paul and Fort A Formosa at like the foothill.

Really good Nyonya food. Though we didn't really order much here. Def go back there the next time! If we can find it... Hahahaha. It's somewhere on Jonker.

We had nyonya food by the river our first night in Malacca. Food an ambiance was okay, but service was terrible! Always a first though!

We went on the cruise around Malacca at night! Quite pretty really. :) SLOOOWWW MOVING THOUGH, and the guide spoke in really fast Malay. Testing my BM much!

Sem break seems soooo long ago. Can't believe we're already 3 months into the new semester! Had our first progress test, which was better than I expected. God is sooooo good! He's been really generous to me this year, so far. Hehe. My better days are ahead of me! Definitely!

p/s : Anyone know any good hotels in Langkawi? Or which are the good beaches? We're planning our next semester break in June already whoopee!

Saturday:
Breakfast with Yee Jin then go over to Kai's place to get his guitar.

Lunch with Tang Yang.

Chill at home then have dinner with mom.

10am while having breakfast, I got a text message saying that Leon has just passed away. I conveyed the message to the rest of my friends (not all, some of you just slipped my mind.. so sorry) who knew Leon personally and told them to pray for him and his family.

Nothing.

Then I got on with the rest of my day up till lunch. Decided to go over to the funeral parlor after that with Jenn Ming to see if there was anything we could help with.

Still nothing.

The car ride there was a really long one. Not only was it really far (distance wise), there was a massive traffic jam. Talked about Leon.

Still nothing.

Arrived at the funeral parlor, finally. Talked to Leon's mom and his family members plus some of the guests there. Aunty Lily brought me to Leon's casket to show him to me. My heart sank a little because it was finally real. He's really gone..

Took a walk away from the crowd. All the way I was just worshiping and praying to God. I didn't know what to pray for. I just did..

Jesus said "Let the little children come to me." in the Bible.

I believe that Leon is still pure and blameless, still childlike and I know that my God is a great and merciful God. I don't know what will happen, but I'm praying that I Leon will "go to Jesus" in Heaven and some day, I'll meet him up there!

My only regret is how I took for granted that Leon would always be around, that there is always ONE MORE day with him.. There were so many days where I had extra time and I could just go over to hang out with him, but I didn't.

I think that's how everyone is. We take it for granted that the people we love around us will always be there. Truth is, they just may not.

Rawr, I know I'm making everything sound so bleak, but what I'm trying to say is...we just need to remember each and every day to- Live, laugh, love!

Adelene and Lionel's Wedding.

It was Mr&Mrs In's wedding in January! They had a garden wedding and it was beautiful despite the minor glitches with the sound system here and there.

The really cute ring bearer. Hahaha! He looks so cheeky!

Adelene walked down the aisle to Boys Like Girls' Two is Better than One. Although its such a new and current song, it somehow fit perfectly! I teared a little as Pastor Michael walked with her and passed her to her husband to be, Lionel.

Christian weddings are just so beautiful.. The flowers, the music, the people, the sacredness and purity of it all!

When two people join together to become husband and wife before God.. When you commit your relationship to God, even though you may not need to - you just want to, that's love right there!

During weddings, it's super hard to decide who you want to look at! The bride who's walking down the aisle, or the groom who's waiting for her at the end. I'd usually look at the groom. Men don't usually show their emotions much in their everyday life, and I guess most men, on their wedding day, can't help but burst with emotion as they see the woman they love and will spend the rest of their life with come down the aisle! So that's pretty cool. :)

Then on to the Chinese dinner! All of us were so hungry! FOOOOOOOOOOD! Hahaha.
They played really good music the whole night! They had some oldies on their playlist but also loads of Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and all of that good stuff!

Funny how just two months ago, I didn't even know who he was! Sure we've met a couple of times at the hospital.. but I've never really.. related to him.

Not until recently did I have the chance to know him on a more personal level. He's my age, 4 months younger.. A fellow monkeyyyy! :)

I think God planned for me to me with Leon. It wasn't even the original plan to go meet up with him.

Saturday - wake up, get ready, go for worship practice, have lunch, go shopping/movie, then Lei Shen's open house and dinner with the family at night.

Somehow Jenn Ming and I got to know about Leon being in the hospital from Pastor Anne in the morning while we were having music practice at church and we decided to skip the movie/shopping and go visit him instead.

It turned out to be the start of a friendship. :)

I find myself now, being so happy when I see him healthy and cheerful. Never fails to bring a smile to my face! Though, as he hurts and is in pain, my heart breaks with him. Sometimes I just want to take away his pain so bad I ask God to let me share in his pain.. but I know I can't.

Pastor Leslie said this during a sermon in church once, when you have a sickness, it's the loneliest path you'll ever have to take. Of course your friends and family can be there with you, but at the end of the day, you're the only one who can feel all of that pain and suffering.. but there is one person who can share that pain with you.. and that person is God.

As fictional as it sounds, God can share in our sufferings as He can, our joy. I don't know how, but I find great comfort in Jesus whenever I'm facing trials of my own.. I can only pray and hope that all of you can feel that comfort in Christ as well.

Well, Leon's heaps of fun to be with! Every time we go over to the hospital or to his home, I never fail to have a good time! Singing songs, playing board games, watching funny videos on YouTube or the telly, chatting and laughing away! All my friends (well, they're his friends too now!) love him! :)

Leon and his mom, Aunty Lily. She is seriously, WONDER MOMMY! She's one of the strongest women I've ever met! Physically and emotionally! Like she's just plain awesome. Every cheerful and bubbly when she sees us.. and she mixes well with us young people too! Hehehe. Young at heart ma! :D

For the past two months, Leon has touched my life in so many ways. He has strength, patience, perseverance, and trust that knows no bounds. Sure he complains once in awhile, who doesn't?

Plus he has every reason to complain. Going in and out of the hospital for three years.. I don't think I'd be able to hold on that long if I were wearing his shoes. But he hasn't given up just yet, and I'm sure that God hasn't either. There's still more to come. Still more that hasn't been done, hasn't been said.

Whoever's reading this, say a little prayer for him would you? :)

I got my results for the papers I took last semester on Monday. It was good! Not only did I pass all of my papers, I got 1st class honours for my degree. Pure evidence of God's grace!

Seriously, it's 99% God and 1% me. Without Him, His strength, His grace, His wisdom, well basically him daddying me from Heaven, I wouldn't be able to achieve whatever I've achieved!

So HALLELUJAH PTL! *huge sigh of relief*

I celebrated by going on a mini shopping spree and a movie! Hehe.

So happen Forever21 have been (and still is) having their clearance sales and the girls at uni and I are huge Forever21 fans.. plus Nose is having their warehouse sales at one of the warehouses near Monash (tomorrow ie Sunday is the last day! 10am to 7pm GO GO GO!).. so ta-da!

& the gang and I watched No Strings Attached which was good!!! First movie in a long long time.. Going to download the movie and watch it again though.. 'cos we missed the first 30 minutes of the movie (girls and I were at the NOSE sale! :P) and Malaysian cinemas censored out quite a bit.. so pirate pirate!

Anyway, celebration time over. Having tests in 3 days. Rawr! There's no real breaks during ACCA. Just pretend ones where I ignore the exams coming up and chill out instead hehehe :D

Kids make me Happy!

On so many occasions, when I'm feeling down or just not "myself", kids just somehow manage to make me feel so much better! They're just so adorable and innocent and silly! Hehe.

They don't even have to do anything and I'd be so cheered up! One Sunday, Phillip (picture above) was running on our church's stage and I was walking towards that direction. At one point, we were right in front of each other and I stopped in my tracks and so did he. We stared at each other, I have no idea why, and stoned for like 5 seconds before we snapped out of it and he smiled, then quickly ran in the opposite direction. Lol!

I like asking them about their boyfriends and girlfriends! They always have like minimum ONE! Kids nowadays... I remember when I was younger we all used to think boys were disgusting and they boys thought girls and cooties! Hahahaha.

Jerry (pic above) has like 5 girlfriends or something! Heartbreakerrrrr!!!!

Everything excites them.. Even their own image in the mirror! Was playing with baby Tristan in church the other day and I brought him to the mirror and he "touched" his own hand in the mirror and started laughing! Hahaha. Silly boy! :)

I can list like a thousand and one reasons why kids are soooo... therapeutic! Haha. OH! Another reason, they smell so darn good! Even when they sweat! How is that even possible... Like mom says, the only time babies stink is when they pee or shit. Lol!

Started out pretty bad. So bad that Aaron whips out his guitar to play for us! We can't hear him though. He didn't have a mic. LOL.

My Silver Lining.

I always fail to find the right words to say. Especially when I'm talking to someone faced in a situation so tough that it's hard to stay positive. How do I comfort them when I myself don't think there's a silver lining behind that dark cloud?

I could quote bible verses, but would that make it all any better? If I were in that position, someone quoting about how God loves me would just annoy and piss me off! If God loves me, why is He, the GREAT and AWESOME and MIGHTY God, allowing me to suffer? Why is He leaving me to go through all of this pain..

As cliche as this may sound, being a Christian doesn't exempt you from the problems that this life may bring, that this world is full of! It does, however, promise you that God will be there, each step of the way to hold your hand and guide you through it all.

The ending may not be as we want it to be, but you just have to trust that God has his hand upon everything, that whatever the outcome may be, if you just trust in Him, it'll all work out in the end.

I can't say that my problems are worse than yours, and neither can you say that my problems are little because everyone is affected by different things but God is interested in each and every one of them!

My parents got a divorce when I was 10. It was... painful. I cried myself to sleep almost every night asking God "Why my family? We go to church, serve, read the bible, pray etc. If You say You love us so much... WHY US?" I blamed Him, I scolded Him, I cried out to Him..

Thank God somehow, something in me just kept me holding on to Jesus. I did question God but I don't remember once thinking that He isn't real or He can't hear me. I've doubted whether God loves and cares for me (I was a kid!! -physically and spiritually) but I know now and I'm 100% sure that my Daddy in Heaven does!

If I didn't go through what I went through, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I wouldn't have the passion for all the things I have for now.. and I certainly wouldn't meet all the wonderful people I've come to know and love.

I don't know what your silver lining is as it is for you to find out yourself, but I know mine and it's in the faces of these amazing, amazing people and more (which I don't have pictures of!), and of course all the awesome kick-ass people who have stuck by me through thick and thin! Most importantly, I had the chance of getting closer to the Big Boss in Heaven and getting to know Him and His marvelous ways..

All of the bad? PAH! The good definitely cancels it all off!

Watchnight Camp '10

Every year, the churchies and I will go to PD where we'd have our Watchnight Camp and count down to the new year together as a church! Truly, there's no other way I'd rather usher in the new year than giving thanks and praise to God with my family in Christ! :)

Was at Subang Empire with Aaron the other day. He wanted to bring me to try this place called Suchan but it was closed, so we just randomly walked into this cafe called The Vanilla Place instead.

Ordered the Coffee Cheesecake but it turned out to be really dry - from the chocolate icing to the cheesecake itself. The texture was like one that was a few days old!

Told the waiter that it was dry and asked if their cakes were fresh. He went to the manager (or boss, whatever, basically the dude in charge) to let him know about it and when he came back, he apologised and told us that we could change to another cake if we wanted.

So I did, because it really tasted horrible lah.

He brought the apple crumble and it tasted good, so I was happy! Sugar dum dum dum duh dum dum honey honey! Hehe.

Then he came back and told me that the manager said that maybe its because they put biscuit or something in the cheesecake? Those bits in there la. I got a little cheesed off (pun!!) and told him that I know there is, but the other parts of the cake that ISN'T the biscuit was dry as well, even the chocolate part. Then he went back and told the manager.

Haiyoh. Seriously. I'm not FIVE lor, and even if I was, if I say it's dry and that I don't like it, then stop trying to CONVINCE me that it's NOT dry. I know what I tasted, and it was dry! Plus, customers are always right!

Like Mr. Dinesh was saying in class, if this happened in developed countries like UK, they'd even offer us our MONEY back. No questions asked.

If the manager was really sure that the cake was so awesome and I was wrong about it, then come and tell it to me yourself! Why send the waiter back and forth? If you want to explain whatever, explain it to me yourself.

I give credit to The Vanilla Place for offering us another cake though. Some places in Malaysia would just go "OH, REALLY AH?" No apologies nothing.

Okay I sound like such a bitch oh-no, but I'm just ranting. Of course I didn't fire away at them! I'm very diplomatic, especially towards the people who are preparing my food. Don't want them adding their spit in it. Hahahaha. Oh-no, bitchy again. I shall stop talking now. Kthanksbye.

Shopping at One Utama with the girls the other day for CNY. Didn't buy anything much really! The other two went crazy la. San San even had to borrow money from me! Confessions of a Shopaholic much! Hahaha.

Dinner date with Darsh and Jia Wen at Ole Ole Bali, Sunway Pyramid. Have always wanted to try the food at this place, but never got the chance to! Food was REALLY delicious. Portions are huge too! We were so stuffed by the time we finished everything. Two dishes shared between three people would be the most ideal. (we think. hahaha)

Had such a good time with the girls. All of us bought new maxi dresses! rm30 for Darsh's and Jia Wen's from Asian Avenue and mine was rm35 at Discreet. Well, rm70 for two hehehehe but it's super cheap!

A year and a half since we first met and became friends in class during CAT. How we've all changed!

I had a dream a couple of nights ago of me failing one of my papers last semester. It was so scary 'cos it felt so real!

The gang and I were at Redbox, Sunway Pyramid when we received our results through email from ACCA. We always go to Redbox before checking our results to unwind...

I was so afraid to check my results that I used one hand to cover my eyes while the other to scroll down the page..

F7 FAILED

HUAHHHH SHIT. Started crying (this part wasn't so real la 'cos usually I'd leave the room if I needed to cry) and thinking about all the consequences and how screwed up everything was.. SIGH SIGH SIGH.

Then Aaron (odd right, I know!) reminded me about the things I always say to others: "God is still GOOD and He has a plan for each and everyone of us, despite the circumstances that are placed before us.. Just trust that He'll take care of you."

Maybell's Farewell Dinner

We had dinner at Nordsee Bistro, Jalan Ampang. Really small restaurant because it's new. Somewhat pricey and the food's nothing to shout about.. We went there because it had good reviews, but bahhh! On a positive note, the owner's really friendly.

The jacket we bought for Maybell as a GOOD LUCK IN UK!!! present. Hehe.

On to Delicious, Dua Residency for dessert!

Chocolate Brownie! The only thing in our original order. Everything else we wanted was finished. @___@ Either that or they're just lazy to prepare them. PFFFT. Well, the brownie tasted heavenly as usual! :)

Mango Cheesecake. Everyone else didn't like it except Sharvin and I. Less men more share woohoo! HAHAHAHA.

After 8 cupcake.. I thought it would be yummy, cos I love After Eights.. but the cupcake was dry and the mint icing tasted like toothpaste. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

Maybell turned out to be the first of our gang to leave the country! Cass and Kai Yun's leaving for US later this year.. and maybe Eunice as well. On one hand I'm really happy for them because they have the opportunity to go study overseas, but I'm also really sad 'cos I'm going to miss them and all our girly outings and sleepovers and whatnots! :(

Well, we'll cross the bridge when we come to it..

Christmas 2010

This year, mom and I decided to spend Christmas at home with our friends and family instead of go fly off some place far away and it was the right decision! Had so much fun with the churchies! Hehehe. Caroling, visiting orphanages, dinner parties (which I have no pictures of @_@ why oh whyyy) and service at church on Christmas morning..

CAROLING

This year, the Vineyard Young Adults went Christmas caroling at Wangsa Maju Walk (where we were paid! We performed there for three days), a cafe in Cheras called Coffee Berry (no pictures with me! All with Benjamin Tong!), and at University Hospital (I only have one picture, rest with Tee Juan)

Although we were all stressed up about it due to certain complications, it turned out pretty good in the end. :)

We wrote the song list on our arms. Hahahaha.

At University Hospital. My fav kid!!! Spoke to him in mandarin yo! POWER. He wasn't crying (as the picture implies), he was just camera shy! Hahaha.

SHOE BOX PROJECT

Our church had this Shoe box project where each church member picks one kid from the three orphanages that we picked out and buys gifts for them, one whole shoe box worth with the total value of about rm50! Some of us went crazy and filled up our boxes with loads of cool stuff (well, in our opinion la hahaha) but some of them just simply bought presents that really disappointed the kids.. Sigh.

The most amazing thing is, some of the kids, although they didn't like their presents, they just kept quiet and pretended to like it.. though you can see from their eyes that they feel like crying! On one hand, it just shows how strong and grateful they are.. but one the other hand, it's so heartbreaking! I kept wanting to just bring them out to buy them another gift!

A few of us were in charge of handing out the gifts to the kids at the orphanage and have mini Christmas parties with them and just mingle..

1st Orpahange : Rumah Charis.

I think this is supported by Charis Christian Centre? *THINK* and they did a pretty good job! The orphanage has a mini cyber cafe looking computer room. Hahahaha. So cute, when we arrived, all the boys were playing dota. LOL! The place is really clean and well equipped.

The little kids were all so cute! At first they were all so super excited about their presents, especially the little boy on my right in this picture. Then they started looking at other people's presents and started getting jealous! Not that little boy beside me though. He was just super grateful throughout! Love love loveee hehe.

p/s : Mandarin was their first language and I was cracking my head to think of words to say! Good thing my kids were the younger ones.. so I just talked about all the kiddy stuff which is WAY easier!

2nd Orphanage : House of Joy.

This one was a little run down, with the compound filled with old furniture that people just dumped there. No idea why the orphanage doesn't just throw it away if they're not using it instead of leaving it there. Sigh.

House of Joy had the most kids out of the three orphanages we visited and my kid was there! Well, she's 18, so technically she's not a kid anymore.. Hahaha. Wanted to see if she liked the gift I bought her but she was at work! :(

Spoke to this girl, her name is Ruth. She's 16 and she has a son. Her mom takes care of her son, but she was sent to the orphanage. No idea why would someone do such a thing, but won't comment 'cos I don't know what her family's situation is. Thought Ruth a little mandarin! YES, Sydney can teach mandarin! HAHAHA. Well, just really basic words.. 'cos apparently everyone there speaks mandarin and they don't want to teach her. Sigh.

3rd Orphanage : Angels Home.

This was the orphanage where the kids spoke English!!!!! Hip hip hooray! I think this orphanage had more sponsors because they had Astro and they go for movies at the cinema! They've even watched movies that I haven't!

The one girl that I talked to most of the time was this 13 year old girl, Sandra. Really sweet and she's my height! They actually go through the same struggles that we do - boy girl relationships, friends, school etc..

CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Had Christmas Day Service at the Vineyard Church! :D

Helped the youths out with their mime performance because they didn't have enough people and it turned out to be awesome! We sucked pretty bad at first, but on our very last practice, we somehow managed to perfect everything! Had so much fun with the younger youths.. Crazy hyperactive loud bunch!

Went to Dragon-i at Pavillion with the family friends for our Christmas Day lunch. Uncle Hung Nung's treat! :D

Christmas is a a day where we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus! (Hence the Christ in CHRISTmas)

It also reminds us of God's grace, mercy and love for us which is so GREAT and AMAZING that He sent His Son to live on earth as a man to ultimately die on the cross for us..

Christmas isn't Christmas till it happens in your heart. ;)

The Cross

An excerpt from this book I've been reading called Say Hello to Courtship by Joshua Harris. When you're reading it, try picturing everything in your head. I did it and I was just so overwhelmed by how amazing our God is..

How can a gruesome crucifixion that happened two thousand years ago help when your past comes knocking today?

The answer is that the Cross is God's plan for freeing you from the guilt and punishment of your past sin. At the Cross, we can see both the depths of our depravity and the heights of God's amazing love for us. We witness both the terrifying intensity of God's just wrath for sin and His unspeakable mercy and love for sinners.

Why the Cross?
Because sinners have no other hope.

Why the Cross?
Because it is unassailable proof that we can be forgiven.

Let's gaze on it together. As we draw close, we don't assume that you already know or understand what happened there. Come to the Cross as if for the first time. In the book When God weeps, Steven Estes and Joni Eareckson Tada give the following account of Christ's death. As you read, refuse to let the scene be familiar. Let its reality shock you and break your heart.

The face that Moses had begged to see- was forbidden to see- was slapped bloody (Exodus 33:19-20). The thorns that God had sent to curse the earth's rebellion now twisted around his own brow..

"On your back with you!" One raises a mallet to sink in the spike. But the soldier's heart must continue pumping as he readies the prisoner's wrist. Someone must sustain the soldier's life minute by minute, for no man has this power on his own. Who supplies breath to his lungs? Who gives energy to his cells? Who holds his molecules together? Only by the Son do "all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). The victim wills that the soldier live on - he grants the warriors continued existence. The man swings.

As the man swings, the Son recalls how he and the Father first designed the medical nerve of the human forearm- the sensations it would be capable of. The design proved flawless- the nerves perform exquisitely. "Up you go!" They lift the cross. God is on display in his underwear and can scarcely breathe.

But these pains were a mere warm-up to his other and growing dread. He begins to feel a foreign sensation. Somewhere during this day an unearthly foul odor began to waft, not around his nose, but his heart. He feels dirty. Human wickedness starts to crawl up upon his spotless being - the living excrement from our souls. The apple of his Father's eye turns brown with rot.

His Father! He must face his Father like this!

From heaven the Father now rouses himself like a lion disturbed, shakes his mane, and roars against the shriveling remnant of a man hanging on a cross. Never has the Son seen the Father look at Him so, never felt even the least of his hot breath. But the roar shakes the unseen world and darkens the visible sky. The Son does not recognize these eyes.

"Son of Man! Why have you behaved so? You have cheated, lusted, stolen, gossiped, murdered, envied, hated, lied. You have cursed, robbed, overspent, overeaten, fornicated, disobeyed, embezzled, and blasphemed. Oh the duties you have shirked, the children you have abandoned! Who has ever so ignored the poor, so played the crowd, so belittled My name? Have you ever held your razor tongue?

What a self-righteous, pitiful drink- you, who molest young boys, peddle killer drugs, travel in cliques, and mock your parents. Who gave you the boldness do rig elections, foment revolutions, torture animals, and worship demons? Does the list never end! Splitting families, raping virgins, acting smugly, playing the pimp, buying politicians, practicing exhortation, filming pornography, accepting bribes.

You have burned down buildings, perfected terrorist tactics, founded false religions, traded in slaves- relishing each morsel and bragging about it all. I hate, loathe these things in you! Disgust for everything about you consumes me! Can you not feel my wrath?"

Of course the Son is innocent. He is blamelessness in itself. The Father knows this. But the divine pair had an agreement, and the unthinkable must now take place. Jesus will be treated as if personally responsible for each and every sin ever committed.

The Father watches as his heart's treasure, the mirror image of Himself, sinks drowning into raw, liquid sin. Jehovah's stored rage against humankind from every century explodes in a single direction.

"Father, Father! Why have you forsaken me?"

But Heaven stops its ears. The Son stares up at the One who cannot, who will not, reach down or reply.

The Trinity had planned it. The Son endured it. The Spirit enabled Him. The Father rejected the Son whom He loved. Jesus, the God-man from Nazareth, perished. The father accepted His sacrifice for sin and was satisfied. The Rescue was accomplished.

Don't move too quickly from this scene. Keep gazing.

The Rescue accomplished here was FOR you. John Scott writes, "Before we can begin to see the cross as something done for us (leading us to faith and worship), we have to see it as something done BY us (leading us to repentance).. As we face the cross, then we can say to ourselves both 'I did it; my sins sent Him there,' and 'He did it, His love took Him there.'"

Did you see your own offences on the list of sins that necessitated the Cross? If not, name them yourself. Name your darkest sin. Now reflect on the fact that Christ bore the punishment for THAT sin. He took the punishment YOU DESERVED. Do you feel His compassion and specific love for you? He died FOR you. He was condemned and cursed so that you could go free- He was forsaken by God so that you would never be forsaken (Hebrews 13:5)

That's what Jesus' death on the cross has to do with our sins RIGHT NOW.

After our last paper on the 14th, the unimates and I went to Palate Palette at Changkat Bukit Bintang for our celebratory dinner! To celebrate being 6 months closer to graduating!!!! (hopefully! *praypraypray*)

It was so much fun just kicking back and laughing with these people and not having to feel guilty for not studying!

Semester break's only for 3 weeks before the next one commences, but I like it this way.. I appreciate my breaks more! Plus I get to go back to class sooner and hang out with this crazy bunch! Definitely worth all the stress! Hahaha.

Anyway, the sky was so pretty after our final paper! Our God is AMAZING isn't He? :)

I was the navigator. I know, BAD IDEA. My sense of direction is pretty hopeless. We got there in the end though!! 5 minutes before Happy Hour is over hahahahaha! Jon say thank you! :P

p/s : Food was mediocre.. but the company was AWESOME! Love you guys long time! See you all soon! :)

Booyah! Exams are over and my semester break is finally here!

Think I did pretty okay for all three papers I took this semester. Maybe I screwed the last one up a little.. (inserts huge sigh) Really hope I get through all three. Cannot imagine going through all of that all over again!

Celebrated with the college gang at Palette Pallete at Changkat Bukit Bintang after our last paper. It was good unwinding and talking and laughing, not thinking about business risk, financial risk, working capital, discounting, gearing blablabla! Hahaha.

Heading off to H.U.G.E. Camp later with Jenn Ming and Li Xuan. Whee! OH! BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO JENN MING! YUPPPP it's his birthday today! One year ago, we surprised him at his house while he was studying.. This year, Li Xuan and I planned a surprise for him at camp. Hehehe he knows nothing! Hoping it'll all work out. :)

Can't believe that Christmas is... NEXT WEEK! Excited excited! Our church is doing this shoe box project for Christmas where we'd give children in orphanages shoe boxes worth of goodies! I chose an 18 year old girl. Thinking of stuff from Forever 21 and all of that... Hehehe! Hopefully she's into that kinda girly stuff.

OKAY! Gonna go get ready now. So what else have I not packed.......

Was studying at Starbucks the other day and was deep in concentration.. Duh, I always concentrate when I study *cough* haha. Anyway, then there was this table with this really annoying kid beside me.

The small brat kept making noise! "I WANT I WANT" , "WHY WHY WHY"

The grandma who was looking after him obviously just layan-ed his questions by answering and NOT asking him to shut up.

Then finally his mom came back with her coffee (we all know why she needs her coffee... note: annoying little brat) and he kept pestering her to let him take a sip of her coffee.

In the end she gave in. He took one big sip.. and then cringed.

Hahahahaha!

At that time all I could think of is, HAIH, why is it so impossible to be pissed at children? One minute they're pissing you off and the next minute you can't help but smile at something silly that they just did.

The boy's face cringed somewhat like the baby in the video above. SOOO funny. Hehehe.
